Tend Daily Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 August 2026
Tend Daily does not collect anything. There is no account and no server of ours. The app makes exactly one kind of network request, an optional weather lookup described below, and everything you enter stays on your phone.
What the app stores, and where
Tend Daily keeps the following in a database on your device:
- Your first name, if you choose to enter one, used only to say good morning
- The plants you add: name, type, where they are, how much sun they get, and any photo you attach
- Your care history: when you watered, when it rained, when you fed or pruned
- Your settings: ZIP code, climate region, reminder time, language, whether reminders are on
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is included in your device backup only if your phone is set to back up app data, and in that case it goes to Apple or Google under their terms, not ours.
What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or any third party SDK that phones home
- We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across apps
- We do not share, sell, or transfer data, because we never receive any
Your ZIP code
If you enter a ZIP code, it is used on your device to look up which of six climate regions you are in, from a table bundled inside the app. The lookup happens entirely offline and your ZIP code is never sent anywhere. You can leave it blank, and you can change or clear it at any time in Settings.
Photos
If you attach a photo to a plant, the app asks for permission to read your photo library and copies the image you choose into its own storage on your device. It reads nothing else from your library and uploads nothing.
Weather
If online weather is on (it can be turned off in Settings), the app requests a forecast from the US National Weather Service at api.weather.gov, a public government service. The request contains approximate coordinates derived on your device from your ZIP code, rounded to about a kilometre, and a User-Agent header identifying the app. No account, no identifier, and nothing about your garden is sent, we never see the request, and the forecast is processed in real time rather than stored against you. Turn the switch off and the app makes no network requests at all.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app on your device. No push server is involved and no device token is created or transmitted.
Product names
The app mentions the names of garden products so you know what kind of thing to look for. Those names are used descriptively. Tend Daily is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any brand mentioned, there are no affiliate links, and no click or impression is recorded anywhere.
Children
Tend Daily is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Settings contains a Delete everything option that removes all plants, care history and settings from the device. Deleting the app also removes all of it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top.
